The incident occurred when Móri, real name Magnús Ómarsson, and Erpur Eyvindarson (pictured above), of the rap group XXX Rottweiler, appeared on the radio show Harmageddon to debate which of them was more ground-breaking and influential on Icelandic rap music. Things didn’t go so well though, and Móri ended up chasing Erpur around the studio with a knife. Erpur managed to defend himself by warding off his attacker with a mop
The case against Móri went to court yesterday after dragging in the justice system for the past three years. He was charged with threatening Erpur, making him fear for his life and health. He was also charged with a weapons violation for carrying a concealed stun-gun, which was confiscated by the court.
Móri confessed to these charges yesterday in Reykjavík’s District Court, and District Court Judge Árngrímur Ísberg wrapped up the case by ordering him to pay a fine. The prosecutor sought a fine of 100,000 ISK but Móri insisted that he should only pay 50,000 ISK. Árngrímur agreed to the latter amount.
Icelandic rapper Móri was sentenced yesterday to pay a 50,000 ISK fine to the state treasury for chasing another rapper with a knife in February 2010,
