Icelanders Celebrate End of Coalition

Spread by word of mouth via SMS and through social networking sites
such as Facebook, Icelanders will be celebrating the end of the
coalition government in front of parliament, and throughout downtown
Reykjavík tonight despite the shitty weather. Video below.
Not exactly a somber affair. Below is a small sample from 16:00 this afternoon. The sign the man is holding is a
checklist which reads (from top to bottom): “New Republic” –
“Resignation of the government” – “The government out now!” – “Party
rule abolished”.
