An exciting and cutting-edge benefit concert, with all proceeds going to Stelpur Rokka, is kicking off Friday night in Reykjavík.

The event, Mixed Emotions: A Post-Everything Happening, will be held Friday at 18:00 at Húrra, in downtown Reykjavík. It’s only 1,000 ISK, and all of the proceeds will go to Stelpur Rokka, a volunteer-run non-profit organization working to empower girls, trans boys, gender queer and intersex youth through music.

The line-up is an impressive one, and includes the following acts:

18:30 – Sara Mjöll
19:00 – Sunna Friðjóns – Sunna Fridjons
19:30 – DALÍ
20:00 – Spaðabani (a teenage feminist punk band)
20:30 – Finnur Sigurjón
21:00 – Dead Herring
21:30 – bagdad brothers
22:00 – TORA
22:30 – IDK IDA
23:00 – CeaseTone
23:30 – Rex Pistols

With special video appearances by:
SURA

Sacha Bernardson

The whole event, produced and curated by “a team of music nerds” from Listaháskóli Íslands led by Erik DeLuca with co-support from Húrra and Tónlistardeild Listaháskóla Íslands, closes with “open YouTube karaoke”, likely one of the best ways to end an evening.

If the acts intrigue you, or you want a sampling of some of the goodness they provide, here’s a “mixtape” of sorts comprised of various YouTube, Vimeo, Soundcloud and Bandcamp links, compiled by the curators:
