Just when you were getting used to the mild weather, another storm is expected to hit Iceland tomorrow.
The Icelandic Met Office reports that our past week of low temperatures but fairly tame wind speeds are drawing to a close. Tomorrow, high winds are expected to come sweep across the country from the east, affecting mostly the northwest region of Iceland.
Wind speeds are expected to be highest in the Westfjords, where the storm will be bringing winds from 18 to 23m/s. As such, those expecting to fly out of the Westfjords tomorrow would do well to call ahead and make sure there have been no cancellations.
Where the rest of the country is concerned, the weather is a mixed bag. The south of the country will see rains, but snow will arrive in the east. In the capital area, winds will be mild and temperatures will be just above the freezing point, with rain in the morning tapering off by early afternoon.
