7.880 people have signed up for this year’s Reykjavík Marathon on August 23, roughly 7% more than last year, reports Vísir.
Most of the 7.880 people who have signed up have registered for the 10 km run and after that, the half marathon is the most popular race.
Almost 2.000 runners from abroad have registered for the Reykjavík Marathon, the majority of which are Americans (468 participants), after that are runners from the U.K (353), and thirdly Germans with 219 runners.
60% of the runners who have registered so far are women.
Online registration for the marathon is open now and will run until August 21.
