From Iceland — More Seniors Going Online

More Seniors Going Online

Published November 18, 2013

Twice as many seniors in Iceland use the internet now than a decade ago, or nearly 79% of people aged 65-74.

These are the findings of a new survey carried out by Statistics Iceland, Mbl.is reports.

In 2003, only 31% of people aged 65-74 used the internet regularly. However, people aged 65-74 now use the internet much more; 78.7% of them had used the internet at least once in the past three months at the time of the survey.

Ten years ago, only 54% of that group, then in the age group of 55-64, had recently used the internet.

There are still today nearly 20% of people aged 65-74 that never use the internet.
