Where’s The Fire?

Published June 5, 2013

Police armed with radar guns were stationed along Breiðvangi in Hafnarfjörður yesterday and what they saw during their one-hour was a whole lot of law breaking.
People are driving too damn fast!
The police were set up in a zone with a speed limit of 30km per hour and found that 44% of drivers were exceeding the limit. The average offender was cruising along at 43 km per hour and the speed demon of the bunch zoomed by at 51 km per hour, RÚV reports.
Police were monitoring Breiðvangi because of numerous complaints about speeding in this particular area, but that’s not to say that speeding isn’t a trend nearly everywhere else. Everybody needs to sow down and drive safe. And use a turn signal while you’re at it.
