From Iceland — Icesave Saga Continues

Icesave Saga Continues

Icesave negotiations between Icelandic, British and Dutch authorities,
as it now seems likely that the new deal will return to parliament for
more work.
Finance Minister Steingrímur J. Sigfússon, talking to Morgunblaðið, told reporters that there were some informal details from British and Dutch authorities about the deal newly released by the Icelandic parliament, and that the financial committee would most likely have to go over these matters.
Parliamentary opposition took this as a sign that British and Dutch authorities had flat-out rejected the Icelandic ammendments to the original Icesave deal; a charge that Sigfússon denied, adding that if the informal details do not crystallize into something more concrete, then those details will be off the table.
