This is maybe the most zen indoor activity you can find on a rainy Reykjavík day. Over in the Grandi area, you can plonk down with some soothing music, order a hot cup of tea and paint some ready-made ceramics while gazing out at the sea. You don‘t need to fire up a kiln or do any of those fancy spinny plate ceramic moves. You just sit down, with your colours and mindfully paint little dots on a bowl you‘ll never use. Then the good people at Noztra will glaze it and bake it and, hey presto, a few days later you get your stupid little bowl that you somehow love more than most of your relatives. It‘s like a casino for chill, non-gambling adults. The panel got all quiet and dreamy just thinking about it.

This rage room can be found in Skemmtigarðurinn, an all-ages amusement park with some activities definitely appealing more to the adults. Getting a bucket of beers and some loaded nachos and smashing a roomful of wine glasses definitely counts as the latter. They also have axe-throwing, archery tag, paintball and minigolf. Let out your inner suburbanite and rage against that dying light…with a sledgehammer.
