Icelandic strongman, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, took the title of Europe’s Strongest Man in Leeds yesterday, reports DV.
“I set my sights very high,” said Hafþór Júlíus. “I simply have to become the best in the world.”
6000 fans flocked to watch the competition which featured strongmen from all over Europe and guest competitor Brian Shaw; The World’s Strongest Man.
Although Hafþór Júlíus was the overall winner, another Icelander, Benedikt Magnússon stole the show when he set a new deadlift world record of 461 kg.
