At least 38 people were killed and 102 injured this morning when two separate suicide bombs went off in the Moscow subway system. The full story, with photos and video, can be read here.
We at the Grapevine just want to extend our most heartfelt condolences to the survivors, and to the people of Russia as a whole. We know that the issues between Russia and Chechnya are centuries-old and not likely to be resolved any time soon, but we still sincerely hope that the cycle of violence between the two might one day come to a peaceful end.
If you know any Russians, be sure and extend your sympathies to them. They could probably use it today.
