Að standa á haus: Sandrayati and Laglegt
Saturday November 23 — RVK Brewing Co./Tónabíó — Free entry
It’s been a few months since RVK Brewing Co. launched their new concert series, Að standa á haus, consistently hosting DJ nights on Fridays and live gigs on Saturdays. While I haven’t personally made it to Tónabíó yet, I’ve been tempted more than a few times. Slowly but surely, it’s becoming the go-to spot for one of the most interesting music lineups in town. Plus, they’ve got craft beer! If you find yourself venturing halfway to Skipholt this weekend, here’s your chance to hear the enchanting voice of Sandrayati and the emotional lyrics of Laglegt. IZ

Local legend Gunnar Lárus Hjálmarsson, aka Dr. Gunni, performed at the Lækjartorg tower just last week, but now he’s bringing the highlights of his four-decade career to Tjarnarbíó. He’ll be joined by the Reykjavík Brass Band, singer Salóme Katrín, and conductor Tumi Torfason. Dr. Gunni shows no signs of slowing down, and this performance promises to be a treat for all ages. Psst… children under 16 get in for free! IZ

But beyond being an exhibition, Árekstur is an event to welcome Steingrímur to the Gallery Port board and to launch Árni Már’s new artist-run investment fund. So head to Port for the art and to welcome Steingrímur, and stay diversify your portfolio with some artsy stocks. CF
