Jónsi, best known for being the frontman for Sigur Rós but having recently embarked on a solo career with his first single in a decade dropping last April, has just announced the release date for his new album, ‘Shiver’. At the same time, he has also released a new music video for the single ‘Swill’.

“Shiver plumbs the depths of the human experience and our connection to the natural world,” a statement to the press on the album and single reads in part. “It pits the organic and dreamlike qualities of Jónsi against A. G. Cook’s synthetic, sometimes abrasive, and avant-garde experimentalism. On paper, their collaboration is surprising, but Shiver only continues Jónsi’s quest to push the boundaries of not just what we consider art, but how we experience it.”

‘Shiver’ was produced by the artist and G. Cook, and features guest appearances from Robyn and Liz Fraser. It is set to be released on October 2nd.

The single and its video are both compelling, and can be watched or listened to here.
