We at the Grapevine are big fans of Design March which, as the name suggests, normally happens in March. As for many other people, whoever, the novel coronavirus threw a wrench in those plans this year, to the understandable disappointment of many.
Which is why we are happy to report that it has been announced that Design March will go forward—in June.
The schedule of events for Design March this year is jam-packed with some incredible stuff, showcasing the daring, the resourceful, and the innovative in the field of design in Iceland.
“Design March is the harbinger of optimism and the creative force in society,” the announcement reads in part. “We now have the opportunity to focus our attention on the power of innovation, and to show how important a role this field plays in society, in these uncertain times in which we live.”
Design March will be held this year from June 24th to June 28th. You can follow the events on their above-linked page, and you can also look forward to our own coverage of Design March as it unfolds.
Note: Due to the effect the Coronavirus is having on tourism in Iceland, it’s become increasingly difficult for the Grapevine to survive. If you enjoy our content and want to help the Grapevine’s journalists do things like eat and pay rent, please consider joining our High Five Club.
