Airwaves Venues Announced

Airwaves officials have officially announced the venues for Iceland Airwaves 2019. Here is what you should know about the venues: there are three type; Official Venues, On-Venues, and Off-Venues.

The Official Venues are programmed by Iceland Airwaves, and are the backbone of the festival. All the main acts play here, the music starts in the evening, and you need a wristband to enter. From the holy and reverent Fríkirkjan to the den of hedonism and downright fun that is Gaukurinn, the Official Venues are looking good. Kex Hostel is a new addition to the list of Official Venues this year.

Meanwhile, the On-Venues are programmed by the venues themselves. They operate both during the day and at night, and you also need a wristband to enter. This year, a trio of sweet venues have been confirmed for the On-Venues, with more to be announced in the coming weeks. The three that have been confirmed are Dillon, Miami Bar, and Kornhlaðan.

Off-Venues operate during the day and do not require a wristband to enter. Like the On-Venues, they are programmed by the venues themselves. A full list of venues will be announced at a later date.

More information about the venues can be found here. If you haven’t bought your ticket yet, now would be the time to get on that.
