An orange alert has been issued for South Iceland, Southeast Iceland and Central Highlands. Severe gale-force winds or storms can be expected, with winds up to 30 m/s and gusts near mountains potentially exceeding 40 m/s. Traveling is not advised. Please remain cautious and secure your neighbourhood from wind damage.

A yellow alert has been issued for the Breiðafjörður region, Westfjords, Northwest Iceland, Northeast Iceland, East Iceland, and the Eastfjords. All regions are expected to have strong winds and gusts of up to 30 m/s. Snow showers or blowing snow will cause bad visibility and poor road conditions.

If traveling—and again, we caution you not to—show caution and monitor weather and road conditions.

Both alerts are in effect until tomorrow, March 12.
