We’ve spent the past month or so complaining that winter would pass us by this year; that obviously autumn was going to chug right along through the New Year and into spring.

Well, the weekend proved us wrong, as the first snow of 2019 descended upon Reykjavík, and it continues falling today. Moreover, it’s not too cold nor too windy (yet), which is a blessing in this corner of the world.

Rains are expected to fall this weekend, possibly taking all this snow away, so our photography editor took a walk around town to document the scene. Even if it doesn’t snow again in the city this year, we will always have the digital age to thank for the ability to bring these vivid memories to life.
