Kristján Loftsson, the last and arguably most infamous fin whaler in Iceland, is the subject of a new documentary short from Journeyman Pictures.

Many of our readers are probably familiar with Kristján Loftsson, the CEO of Hvalur hf., the last company in Iceland that still conducts fin whaling. However controversial the practice may be—both in Iceland and especially abroad—Kristján still very much believes in his chosen profession.

As Vísir reports, the documentary short, entitled “Iceland’s Most Hated Man: On The Ground In The War On Whaling”, is produced by Journeyman Pictures, a British company, but is written and directed by Danish journalist Jakob Krogh.

The doc essentially contrasts two opposing forces: Kristján and Sea Shepherd, an environmentalist which has employed direct action against whaling ships for many years now, and has a special abiding interest in Iceland, too.

Below, you can see the doc in its entirety, clocking in at about 24 minutes long. Buckle up, it’s a wild ride.
