Further investigations have uncovered that tourists pooping in public happens farther afield than just Iceland.

As reported, the specially designed sign shown above has been distributed to every corner of Iceland in the hopes of curbing incidents of tourists pooping in public spaces. RÚV now reports that Iceland is not alone in grappling with this phenomenon.

RÚV has found numerous examples of similar signage in numerous corners of the world, as evidenced by these Instagram posts:

In fairness to tourists in Iceland, there is a considerable shortage of public toilets in the Icelandic countryside, and the problem still has yet to be significantly addressed by related authorities.
