Customs officials have seized a Captain America doll on its way into the country, after discovering it had been stuffed with amphetamines.

According to an announcement from the Directorate of Customs, last month officials intercepted a UPS package from the Philippines at Kelfavík International Airport. While it is uncertain what tipped off officials to regard the package suspiciously, they took it aside and opened it for inspection.

Inside, customs officials found a Captain America doll, presented as being a birthday gift for an 11-year-old boy. On closer inspection, however, officials found three plastic bags inside the stomach of the doll, containing a total of 12 grammes of amphetamine.

Suðurnes Police reportedly took over investigations from there, and the Customs Directorate announced that those investigations are closed. What became of the doll itself is unknown.
