Roughly 79.000 people went to concerts by the Iceland Symphony Orchestra last year, or a quarter of the Icelandic population, reports RÚV.

According to Statistics Iceland, attendance at Iceland Symphony Orchestra concerts have risen considerably in recent years.

There were two thirds more concert goers last year than in 2009 and it is presumed the opening of Harpa concert hall has contributed to the increase in popularity.
