The Icelandic Meteorological Office has issued a weather warning for an impending storm due to hit Southwest and West Iceland tonight.
RÚV reports strong winds up of up to 28 metres per second and substantial snow and sleet are forecast. Winds up to 50 m/s are expected on mountainous roads and black ice is expected on Hellisheiði mountain pass and Þrengsli.
