Published January 7, 2014

A tourist who fell into a 20 metre deep crack in the ground was pulled
out unscathed by rescue workers yesterday, reports RÚV.

The man had been walking with a group near Öxarárfoss in Þingvellir National Park when he fell down a crack in the ground and suddenly vanished from view. The man’s brother who was also on the walk reported the fall.

In all, the tourist was stuck about 6 metres down for an hour and a half before he was pulled out surprisingly unscathed.
