Bus fares in Reykjavík will increase on 1st of December, raising a single fare to 400 ISK.
Capital bus operator Strætó reasons that the company is following general price increase but also that the company’s strategy is to increase the share of fare income in its running cost.
Strætó points out that the price of single fare hasn’t risen since January 2011; now it rises from 350 to 400 ISK, or by more than 14%.
Other prices will not increase quite as much and those who buy bus passes or a batch of bus tickets get more discount than before.
