Three members of the Norwegian Devil’s Choice Motorcycle Club were arrested upon arrival at Keflavík airport yesterday and deported early this morning.
They tried to enter the country along with their wives, who were allowed through.
According to the Suðurnes Police, the three men showed no resistance to the arrests. They were detained overnight before being put on a flight back to Norway, RÚV reports.
Police say the men were denied entry because they are members of an organised crime motorcycle club which is also a support club of Hells Angels.
The Devil’s Choice members were coming to Iceland to attend an annual celebration of the Icelandic Devil’s Choice division to be held on Saturday, RÚV reports.
Around 30-40 more foreign members are expected to try to attend the event.
Police say that they will all be arrested and deported, as is the order from the Icelandic Directorate of Immigration.
They hope, however, that the deportation of the three men on Wednesday morning will deter other Devil’s Choice members who are planning to travel to Iceland in the next few days.
