CCP Games announced today that subscribers to it’s popular MMO (that’s ‘massively multiplayer online game’ for the non-gamers out there) EVE Online have reached the half-million mark for the first time in the game’s history.
The Reykjavík based CCP has experienced ten consecutive years of subscriber growth for the hugely popular game, which this year celebrates its tenth anniversary.
“Ten years after release, it is incredibly inspiring that, through a lot of hard work from our EVE Online team, we are crossing the half-million subscriber mark,” CCP CEO Hilmar Veigar Pétursson said in a press release from the company.
CCP will mark the ten-year anniversary of the wildly poplar game with the EVE Fanfest In April and a birthday party will be held for the game in May.
