A Facebook group has popped up in support of bringing KFC to 101 Reykjavík. As of the time of writing this, the group has amassed 285 members since being launched Monday afternoon by Margrét Erla Maack.
Among the supportive comments on the page are a young woman exclaiming “ó mæ god JÁ!” and an enterprising young man claiming it is a violation of human rights to not be able to get fried chicken west of Suðurver.
In addition to your every-day chicken enthusiasts, the group as also attracted the membership of Heiða Kristín Helgadóttir, former assistant of Jón Gnarr and current member of fledgling political party Bright Future. Heiða has commented on the site that she is going to speak with city’s planning board about the prospect of bringing the chain to the city centre.
101 may soon be alive with the scent of 11 herbs and spices and the distinct moan of somebody who has ingested one too many Boxmasters.
