From Iceland — Beloved Comic Artist Has Work Stolen

Beloved Comic Artist Has Work Stolen

Published June 14, 2011

One of Iceland’s most celebrated writers and comic artists had his computer stolen and with it, much of his work, some of it irreplaceable.
Hugleikur Dagsson, whose work has graced the pages of Grapevine and numerous other publications, found himself the victim of a robbery Saturday night, when someone broke into his home and stole, among other things, two laptops.
Writing on Facebook about the incident, he says that among the stolen items was a grey Macbook Pro, decorated with Star Wars stickers and featuring Batgirl on the desktop.
This laptop contained “my life’s work, future projects, scripts for comics, a play, a screenplay, other projects and family photos.”
Hugleikur also reports that he was robbed of a black Macbook with a Retro Stefson sticker on it, a grey television hard drive, black Aiwa speakers, and a Sony HD video camera.
“I HAVE to get this computer back, otherwise everything is fucked,” Hugleikur writes. “This is the worst thing that has happened to me in a long time.”
Hugleikur promises a reward for the return of his things, and calls upon the general public for help. Anyone with any information about the whereabouts of Hugleikur’s property are asked to contact him at hugleikur@gmail.com
