Hundreds of protestors are gathered in front of Alþingi to show their
dissatisfaction with the government, which began a new parliamentary
session today.
On the way back from Austurvöllur where the crowd continues to hurl
eggs, skyr and milk at the parliament building, the Grapevine ran into
its former editor, Valur Gunnarsson.
Valur was standing outside Landsbankinn where an angry woman barged into
the bank complaining that former Prime Minister Halldór Ásgrímsson’s
billion ISK debt had been written off, while she was stuck with hers.
After police violently escorted her out, someone from the crowd of
onlookers gave her 1.000 ISK to go buy some eggs.
