Jobs Available in Norway via Partnership with Iceland

Published March 2, 2009

Signs indicate that the rise of unemployment is beginning to slow down. Gissur Pétursson, chairman of the Directorate of Labour, says that while the unemployment roles continue to fill in February, that the number of unemployed is not rising as fast as it was in January. All told, there are 16,356 people on unemployment – 10,404 men and 5,949 women.
The Directorate of Labour has even gone so far as to enter a partnership with Norway, whereby Icelanders can travel abroad to work, with the help of Norway’s Directorate of Labour.
“These are all sorts of jobs available, but many companies are looking for industrial tradesmen,” Pétursson told Morgunblaðið.
