Filming will begin in Iceland this week on a Halo “digital feature” produced by Ridley Scott. Halo, based on the popular video game of the same name is a part of Microsoft’s new venture into original TV Programming, reports RÚV.
According to IGN reporters who spoke with Nancy Tellem – who was poached from CBS and hired to head Microsoft’s venture into TV – a “digital feature” essentially means a “web series” though with a far bigger budget and higher production value.
The “Halo” project from Scott Free Productions is due out by the end of the year though questions of exactly how it will be distributed are still up for debate.
Sergio Mimica-Gezzan who directed Battlestar Galactica and Heroes to name a few is slated to direct the project.
