Þór Saari’s second request for a vote of no confidence in the ruling coalition government will take place today, RÚV reports.
The process began at 10:30 this morning with a debate on the matter, which is expected to take approximately 4 hours. Voting on the proposal will then begin at 14:45.
Þór lodged his proposal last week as a result of his dissatisfaction with how the constitutional bill is being handled in parliament. He is particularly displeased that democratic reforms proposed as part of the new constitution have not been passed this term and are likely to be passed before parliament closes this week.
The MP for The Movement previously lodged a proposal for a vote of no confidence in February, only to withdraw it the same day.
