Apparently the weather goddess heard our incessant whining, as she has finally blessed Iceland’s capital area with beautiful snow.

As reported, Akureyri was blanketed with a thick coat of pretty snow last weekend, which was certainly picturesque. But it also left those of us living further south feeling envious of our northern comrades.

Fortunately, snow began to fall on Reykjavík yesterday night, and continued well into today. So excited were we that we sent our photographer out to snap some pics of the beauty and majesty of the event, and to see who was enjoying themselves in this winter weather.

Enjoy Reykjavík’s snow day with us—they tend to be ephemeral, so we should probably make the most of this while it lasts.
