A rare fibreglass Stormtrooper helmet was stolen from a young man’s bedroom over the weekend, reports Vísir.

“There are maybe two helmets like it in the country,” said the boy’s mother, Pauline McCarthy. “He is very upset. If you come across anyone trying to sell it or hear of someone having it in their home, please let me know.”

The boy, who was gifted the helmet after his confirmation when he was 14, realised the helmet was stolen after finding an imitation Stormtrooper helmet in the original helmet’s place in his room. So clearly, whoever took it, switched out the helmets, hoping to buy time.

The police has been contacted and the family suspect some kind of die hard Star Wars fan might have taken it, someone who knew where to look for it.

“At first we thought it was a joke and asked our son’s friends and everyone who’d been to the house if they knew where to find it but it wasn’t them.”

If you see anyone attempting to sell or if you have recently purchased a rare Stormtrooper helmet in Iceland, like the one pictured, please be in touch with Pauline or the authorities.
