A tourist from Singapore might very well be the first person to attempt to travel from Höfn to Reykjavík entirely by skateboard.

“This has been a lot of fun, but difficult at times,” Adrian Oh told Vísir. “For example, it rained a lot yesterday, and it’s been raining a lot today.”

Adrian’s plan is to travel from Höfn, in southeast Iceland, to the capital city – a distance of some 450 kilometres – entirely by skateboard. This will not be a non-stop journey, though, as Adrian planned to stay the night in Selfoss last night before travelling onwards to Reykjavík.

Once clearing Selfoss and Hveragerði, Adrian will have his work cut out for him, having to ascend a winding road up the mountains before the final descent into Reykjavík.

“This is the first time I’ve come to Iceland,” he told reporters. “I am completely fascinated with this country and I’ll definitely be back.”
