Yesterday WOW Air received an anonymous call that a bomb was on a plane traveling from London Gatwick to Iceland. The police have now ascertained the caller was a 13 year old boy, reports Vísir.

“It was 30 minutes before landing, we got a call on our service hotline from someone who was clearly Icelandic.” said Svanhvít Friðriksdóttir, director of communications at WOW Air.

For security reasons the plane was barred from approaching the airport terminal upon landing and the passengers were evacuated on the runway and driven to the airport by bus.

The police have said that they are taking the case very seriously.
