Ragnar Kjartansson Shortlisted For UK’s Biggest Art Prize

Artist Ragnar Kjartansson is one of ten international artists shortlisted for the 2015 Artes Mundi, the biggest art prize in the United Kingdom.

The prize was established in 2002 and is awarded every other year to a visual artist still gaining international recognition.

Ragnar and the other nine artists were selected from 800 nominations in 70 countries, BBC reports.

Works of the ten artists will be on display during a 17 week exhibition at Wales’ National Museum of Art from December 2014 till March 2015.

The winner will receive a prize of 40,000 GBP on January 22nd in 2015 in Cardiff.

The other nominees shortlisted for the Artes Mundi prize are:
