Today is International Women’s Day!
The UN has themed this year’s holiday as “Time for Action to End Violence Against Women” and the Red Cross has dedicated the day to raising awareness of the plight of women in prisons around the world. Traditionally, the day is meant to celebrate the many accomplishments of women around the world.
The innumerable accomplishments of women over the past century alone are astounding and deserving of more than this one day of celebration, but since today is what we’ve got let’s all reflect on and celebrate how far women have come.
