Hera Björk Þórhallsdóttir has claimed the top spot at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in Chile, singing “Because You Can.” For the honour, the songstress took home a trophy and a 35 thousand dollar prize, RÚV reports.
The Viña del Mar International Song Festival has been held annually since 1960 in Viña del Mar, Chile, and is the most prominent music festival in the Americas. The festival is a combination of an international song contest, in which Hera Björk competed, and a music festival featuring performances by international artists.
Hera Björk represented Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo in 2010 singing “Je ne sais Quoi.”
