The popular Icelandic music festival Aldrei Fór Ég Suður will again be streamed live this year, for people all over the world to enjoy.
Aldrei Fór Ég Suður attracts numerous musical acts and guests to Ísafjörður every year, but naturally, logistics can often make it difficult or impossible for those who might want to go to attend. For such people, a solution has been found.
The Westfjords news service Bæjarins Bestu reports that the festival will be streamed live this year, hoping to repeat the success last year’s streaming had.
Inspired by Iceland, working with festival organisers, will be handling the recording and broadcasting, but the streaming itself will be hosted on the festival’s website.
Streaming concerts online can often be a taxing experience, with heavy traffic tending to cause lag in the broadcast. However, last year’s streaming was a reported success, both in terms of sound and video quality.
