So we got them to pick five must-sees for this Airwaves. Read on and find out (and also download their excellent radio edit of ‘Delusional’.
1. Walls (uk)– Apótek (Fr. 23:30)
These two guys met in 2009 and they quickly realized that the natural combination of Alessio’s guitar play and haunting vocals together with Willis’ emotive synth lines and sample manipulation magic was a match made in heaven.
2. Shumi (de) – Apótek (Sa. 03:40)
Shumi has long been a key figure in Cologne’s music community, starting his DJ career in the late 90s. His love for soulful, deep vibes combined with his somewhat uncanny ability to transition seamlessly between minimal techno and straight house led him also to enter the production area, with his very first record „Jump For Joy“ being released in summer on the famous Cologne based label Kompakt.
3. Margeir – Apótek (Sa. 02:00)
He’s the Golden Calf making sacrifices on the sonic altar for the lost hordes. He was stage diving into the throbbing masses before rave was nu, mixing sounds before the menu called for a mash-up. His infamy is forged from iron-clad production, blistering DJ sets and a twisted sense of humour that keeps his disciples coming back religiously.
4. Kasper Bjorke (dk) – Apótek (Sa. 00:20)
The versatile Copenhagen producer and Dj, has after more than a decade in music released his music on labels like Hfn Music, Plant, We Love This, Fine, V2 Records + more, and his remix duties are just as widespanding: from Trentemøller and WhoMadeWho to The Ting Tings, FM Belfast, This Is Head and Under Byen.
5. Captain Fufanu – Apótek (Fri. 21:50)
The Icelandic underground techno label REYK VEEK could only describe them as: “Probably the youngest and brightest hope of Icelandic electronic music- are known for their unique deep/dub/experimental live acts… The freshest in Icelandic Techno, no noises, no violence, no French house antics “
