Björk and frequent collaborator Sjón are to contribute an exclusive
new song to the upcoming Moomin troll film “Moomins and the Comet
Chase,” which will be released to cinemas in August/September 2010. This
was reported and confirmed yesterday on Björk’s website. The film is currently
under production by Finnish company Filmkompaniet.
Poet/writer Sjón has collaborated with Björk on lyrics throughout
her latter-day career, most recently contributing to the 2007 release Volta.
Both artists are both known to be big fans of Tove Jansson’s Moomin sagas,
which were released between 1945 and 1993. If you haven’t read them, you should
most definitely check them out.
Björk.com reports that the forthcoming song is entitled The Comet
Song. When the site’s administrator asked Björk for further comments on the
news, she said: “Hah! Luuletko että minä olen joku juoruämmä!”
