Happening Today: Markús and The Diversion Sessions Concert

Make your way over to Tjarnarbíó this evening to view what frontman, Markús Bjarnason, calls “one of the biggest concerts of my life.” Indie-folk and splendid fanfare, two concepts that don’t necessarily go hand-in-hand (pay no mind to Edward Sharpe), are set to converge on one stage. The concert is a celebration of the solo LP, ‘The Truth the Love the Life’, and includes band members playing alongside violin, extra percussion, backing vocals, a gospel choir, and more. Just as exciting, (clarification: just as exciting for amateur set designers) is the onstage ambiance the band aims to create. Candles and fog machines will be in no short supply, creating a suitably grandiose backdrop for the night.

The concert takes place Thursday, June 9 at 21:00 at Tjarnarbíó, Tjarnargata 12. Admission is 2,700 ISK. More info here!
