Norwegian meteorologists predict that there will be snow for Christmas – not only for Reykjavík, but the whole country.
According to the latest forecasts from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, winds should be light on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, although temperatures could get as low as -4°C.
Moderate snowfall is predicted for both the 23rd and Christmas Eve, with partly sunny skies on Christmas Day.
Vísir reports that this forecast is more or less similar to forecasts being made by Icelandic meteorologists. As anyone remotely familiar with weather in Iceland knows, however, things have a way of changing suddenly.
Christmas last year brought us no snow – what Icelanders refer to as a “red Christmas” – but the year before that, snow did come to us over Christmas.
