From Iceland — Busy Night For City Firefighters

Busy Night For City Firefighters

Published March 25, 2013

Reykjavík’s firefighters had a busy night, being dispatched to put out three fires, RÚV reports.
The first call came when a fire broke out in Vatnsmýri nearby the Nordic House. The flames spread over 200 square meters and took approximately an hour for the firefighters to get under control. Next was a trash bin fire outside the daycare in Breiðholt, though local residents had already put the fire out with extinguishers by the time the fire department arrived. Finally, around 5 this morning, the fire department was called out to tackle a stove-top fire in a home on Holtsgata in Vesturbær. It was put out quickly.
