Jón Ásgeir Jóhannesson’s role at 365 Media may be changing, as it has been announced that Svanur Valgeirsson has just been appointed the new Director of Development at the company.
The news was broken to 365 employees by way of an e-mail from CEO Ari Edwald, RÚV reports. Ari noted in his announcement that the change meant that Jón Ásgeir’s role in the company would be changing slightly, though the controversial tycoon would continue to act as a consultant of the company’s board.
365 is keeping things ‘in the family’ with the appointment of Svanur to this new role. Svanur worked previously as head of Human Resources for Bónus, the grocery store chain founded by Jón Ásgeir and his father, Jóhannes Jónsson.
There is no word whether this restructuring has anything to do with recent allegations that Jón Ásgeir has been attempting to influence the work 365 journalists.
