In all there are 72.640 guns registered in Iceland and one Icelander is sitting on 214 of them, reports Vísir.

In a news bulletin from the National Police Commissioner it was revealed that the majority of gun owners in Iceland own only one gun but that 469 people own 10 or more weapons. The person with the second highest number of guns owns 169 of them.

The vast majority of guns in Iceland are shotguns, used for hunting. There are 41.652 of them in total, after which are rifles, of which there are 25.223. Lastly there are 3.427 pistols and 1.223 air guns.

The bulletin does not reveal who the person with the 214 guns is, but suffice to say they might do alright in a zombie apocalypse or as the villain of a ’70s buddy cop movie.
