Prime Minister Bjarni Benediktsson announced that everyone can now ask him questions using an AI-powered chatbot BjarniAI. The announcement was made on Bjarni’s Facebook page.
Bjarni explained that in his line of work, especially during election campaigns, he often wishes he could be in two places at once. “Recently, a clever group of people came up with the idea to test exactly that. Not full duplication, of course, but pretty close. Now, BjarniAI is live — a sort of version of me with better memory and the ability to summarise our policy points far more concisely than the original version!” reads the statement.
Bjarni added that this is “primarily a fun experiment.”
“I’m not the one sitting at the keyboard, and BjarnAI might very well say something I wouldn’t. However, I encourage everyone to give it a try and put it to the test!” he said.
The AI prototype of Bjarni can be accessed at: bjarni.ai.
The website features a disclaimer that states:
“Welcome to an interactive chatbot where you can learn about the policies and vision of Bjarni Benediktsson. This AI-powered chatbot is designed to help you understand the Independence Party’s policies through informal conversations.
Important: This is an AI chatbot with access to the Independence Party’s policy platform as well as over 3,000 public speeches, writings, and statements by Bjarni Benediktsson. While the goal is to reflect Bjarni’s views, this is obviously not an official spokesperson but rather a fun showcase of innovative technology.”
It remains unclear who developed BjarniAI.
