The Icelandic Meteorological Office has issued orange and yellow warnings for the entire country to go in effect on Saturday, but yellow warnings are already in effect in the east, northeast, southeast, Eastfjords, northwest, Westfjords, and the capital region for today.
According to the IMO website, the orange warnings will be in effect tomorrow from 8:00 to 15:00 in the south, from 9:00 to 15:00 in Faxaflói, from 11:00 to 16 in Breiðafjörður, and from 11:00 to 18:00 in the central highlands. The warnings in the southeast come with a prediction of snow. Winds are expected to reach up to 40 metres per second.
In other parts of the country, yellow warnings will remain in effect. Road conditions could become worse throughout the country due to weather, and it is therefore recommended to follow weather forecasts and road conditions closely before heading out.
