American rockers Guns N’ Roses will perform in Iceland this summer, and organisers say it will be one of the largest concerts ever held in the country.
RÚV reports that the concert is scheduled for July 24, and they will perform at Laugardalsvöllur, Iceland’s largest football stadium.
Despite personal conflicts that have existed between singer Axl Rose and guitarist Slash, the two will be performing with the band. The original members have reportedly not performed together as a group since 1993.
Numerous renovations will be made to Laugardalsvöllur in preparation for the concert. To protect the grass, for example, a special floor will be constructed for concert goers. The stage to be constructed will be 65 metres wide, and will be festooned with giant flatscreens.
The organisers behind the concert are the same as those who run Secret Solstice. Ticket prices will start at 18,900 ISK, and go on sale starting May 1.
